The Christmas Projects Page began as an idea from the Christmas-L mailing list, which is an online community of people who love to decorate for Christmas.  The idea was to build a centralized resource for projects and ideas for constructing, designing, and decorating for the holidays, much like the Halloween Monster List and Haunt Project Page  for Halloween enthusiasts and members of the Halloween-L mailing list many of whom are denizens of the Christmas-L list as well.
